Description
A hammer mill is a high-speed machine that crushes and pulverizes materials like grains, chemicals, or biomass into fine powders by repeatedly impacting them with swinging hammers inside a rotating drum, with particle size controlled by screens or air separation, making it versatile for primary, secondary, or tertiary crushing in industries from food processing to mining.
Key Components:
Rotor & Hammers: A central shaft with hinged or fixed hammers rotates at high speeds (thousands of RPM).
Grinding Chamber/Casing: A strong steel drum containing the hammers and material, often with a screen at the bottom.
Feed Hopper: Introduces raw material into the chamber.
Screen/Sieve: A perforated metal sheet that controls the final particle size; only fine enough material passes through.

How it Works:
